Travis and I went on a date last night. :) He took the whole day off from work and we just bummed around home all morning. He had an appointment midmorning to do some paperwork with insurance or something else that I'm glad he takes care of, and then he and I took Emily to daycare and spent the afternoon together picking out carpet for the porch. I think we've come up with a winner. Then, Trav's mom came down for dinner and watched Emily while Trav and I went with some friends to see Ben Folds in concert. It was really fun! I forget how awesome my friends are. :) The evening taught me that I am so incredibly out of shape that I can't even stand for two hours without my lower back killing me. How on earth am I going to get through pregnancy again? I would like to find a chiropractor, but it's a little hard to justify after spending all that money on a new van.
Anyway, this morning, Trav's mom was still here so she spent the morning with Emily while Trav and I went to the kitchen design place and finally agreed to a floorplan for our new kitchen. I can't believe this whole project is necessary because one stupid thief decided to take the entire drawer instead of just the silverware. But I guess it's worth it. I'll enjoy having a slightly bigger kitchen with more storage, and it'll improve the experience of selling this house someday. (That is such a bizarre thought!) In the past few weeks, Travis and I have butted heads on how to lay out the new floorplan, but I guess we've agreed on something now. *phew!*
The sad news is that Emily is sick again! I think she caught the virus that was going through her daycare last week, as she has a lowgrade fever and is fussy and unhappy and doesn't want to eat or drink (sore throat?). I'm glad that I'm home with her today, and I just hope that she's feeling better tomorrow! Normally, staying home isn't a big deal I have SIX meetings tomorrow! bleh. She's such a trooper, though. She loves her grandma and she tried her very best to have fun while she was here, but she ran out of gas shortly before naptime and couldn't do anything except cuddle and cry. Poor thing!
Yesterday was the first day that I really kinda felt pregnant, in that food smelled awful and I didn't want to eat anything even though I knew I was hungry. I can hardly complain because it's not like other women don't have it way worse, but even the "new car smell" in our van was nauseating to me yesterday. As we were driving around yesterday, I seriously considered how embarassing it would be to have thrown up in the van before it even has 100 miles on it.
Thanks for all the congratulations and well-wishes! We are sure excited about this baby!
