Computer woes

So, my beautiful new laptop that we got after the burglary this summer is turning out to be a piece of junk. I sent it in to be repaired last week, and the problem came right back. The fan runs ALL the time, and it's really pretty noisy. I guess to their credit, they fixed it fast enough that it was back within 5 days, but that doesn't really do me any good since I have to send it right back! I'm glad we are spending the $60/yr to have our entire computer backed up by a remote service - somewhere in Utah, I think. It's a nice comfort, since I'm still putting my recipes and music and files back together.

Emily had a tremendous playdate last night during the Super Bowl. We were at a friend's house who have a 2-year-old and an infant, and their basement was full of toys - which was a good thing because there were 9 kids there, all under the age of 3. It was pretty crazy, but a really good time. We got home and put Emily to bed, and I got to see the last 3 minutes of the game which is apparently really all anybody needed to see of the 4-hour ordeal. Worked out great!

It was also nice for me to see Emily around kids of a variety of ages, to see how her development fits in with the other kids. Since all the kids are spaced about 3 months apart, it was neat to see how far she's come the past 3 months, and what she might be doing later this spring.

I think I'll do BRR ride this Saturday, since the weather looks to be pretty nice. Nothing like a 26-mile bike ride in the middle of winter to remind you that you're crazy!
